IMPORTANT: This American Sign Language 101 Course runs for 10 weeks on Thursdays, 6:15 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.. Please arrive by 6:00 p.m. Also please note there is no class on March 19th due to March Break.

In this 10 week introductory American Sign Language course we use the Signing Naturally curriculum that was originally developed at a California College. With this curriculum you not only learn ASL but also valuable information to educate you on the Deaf culture and this will allow you to have a better comprehension of the Deaf culture and community.

Our qualified Deaf instructors have a “no-voice” teaching method. This format of teaching affords you to the opportunity to increase your awareness when signing. Incorporating this method of teaching with videotext, your workbook, games and more, plays an important role in aiding your ability to retain the information learned in an enjoyable interactive manner. Workbook required and important to aid you in your learning, memorization and study. Additionally we offer various levels of ASL classes to suit your needs as well as for you to continue your knowledge of ASL and learn from the beginning level through to a level of conversational skills one would use in daily conversations.

Our classes are designed for those 16 yrs of age and older. Children 14 & 15 years of age may enroll with an adult that is also registered.

"Features include homework for out-of-class study that corresponds to classroom lessons. A topic index allows students to find specific parts of their homework that include key vocabulary and grammar. Culture notes and bios of amazing Deaf people increase students' understanding of the Deaf World.

Seven and an half hours of video on the DVDs feature 12 diverse native signers modeling clear American Sign Language. Signing is paced for new learners. DVD functions also allow students to answer questions before moving on. 12 month Video Library access included with the purchase of every set!

Signing Naturally is one of the most widely used ASL curriculums throughout the United States and Canada. And now you can see for yourself, Signing Naturally Units 1-6 is truly the BEST Made Better!" **Dawn Sign Press***

Organized by

Charlene (Owner/CEO) of ASL Breaking Barriers began her signing journey after studying American Sign Lnguage.  Her love for ASL led her to work with an organitzaton that serviced the Deaf community which is where she remained for 15 years.  A large part of her position was carrying out the duties of the ASL coordinator for the London office.  So she is no stranger to coordinating and overseeing ASL classes.

Over the years Charlene began studying the benefits of using ASL signs with hearing children and soon thereaftter she started her first company, My Smart Hands London, where they specialize in, and are well known for their "Baby Sign and Sensory Play" classes.

A number of years later she wanted to share her passions by providing ASL services to the general public, organizations, services providers, schools and more.  This came to fruition in December 2018 in Londn Ontario, with an amazing tteam of Deaf instructors.

Founded in 2018 as an extension to My Smart Hands London which came to be in 2004, ASL Breaking Barriers is an advanced, current and thriving American Sign Language corporation.  Our clients consist of individuals, to seniors to business’s (both small and large).

Being accessible today is a vital part of any business with inclusivity awareness being more predominant than ever before. We are committed to assisting you in being known as a leader who supports accessibility and inclusivity. With years of experience in signing, involvement in the Deaf community compiled with having Deaf instructors it’s fair to say we are knowledgeable about sign language services! We are happy to answer any questions you may have and truly look forward to assisting you in your signing journey.
